Mr. Monocle's Mysterious Manor

Sir Spectacles receives a mysterious letter from Mr. Monocle requesting help and inviting him to his mysterious manor.  Upon arriving, Sir Spectacles finds himself trapped in a haunted house themed escape room!  Will our genius gentleman be able to find his way out, or will this mysterious manor become his mausoleum?

Made for GDKO 2024 Semifinal.  The game centers around 3 GUI elements with different ways to input a word solution to solve a puzzle.  The game plays with just the mouse.  If an object lights up when you hover over it, you can click on it to interact, get a closer look, or collect it (if it's a key).  Good luck!

WALKTHROUGH BELOW!

If you click on the rug, it moves to reveal a piece of paper.  The paper gives the hint that you need to find keys to play CAGE.  Click the back arrow to return to the room, then click on the piano.  Play C A G E to open a secret compartment with a key and a hint.  Click on the key to collect it.

The next hint tells you it's a two line solution for the typewriter for GDKO and the current year.  Go to the typewriter, then press G D K O enter, 2024 enter. Note that you have to press enter on the typewriter, not your real keyboard.  If you did it right, a key and a note will pop up in the lower left corner of the typewriter.  Click the key to collect it.

The last note contains a hint about asking the spirits.  If you look at all the capitalized letters, you'll see it spells SPECTACLE.  Go to the oija board and input spectacle then press YES to submit.  A piece of the planchette will pop off to become the key.

At this point you have all three keys!  Go to the locked door and click the locks to unlock them and escape!
